Overview
We are Lightyear. We are an ambitious team of visionaries and idealists. We are building world’s first native solar electric platform. Our unique solar car has a battery range of 800 km (WLTP). Depending on your location you will be able to drive between 10.000 – 20.000 km per year on pure solar power. Our ultimate goal is to bring clean and affordable mobility for everyone. The Lightyear One is our first step to get there.
Lightyear is a spin-off of Solar team Eindhoven who are triple world champions of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. Our office is located at the Automotive Campus in Helmond, next to relevant partners. This is also where our production facility is being built.
