With more than 8,400 new customer reviews in 2018, SolarReviews.com congratulates its 100 most reviewed and rated solar installers of the year for their highly rated solar installation services.
“The growth in solar rooftop installation reviews at SolarReviews.com in 2018 is unprecedented and that our Top 100 American Residential Solar Installers of 2018 were both highly ranked by their customers and received such a large share of reviews for the year, is very impressive,” said SolarReviews.com Director of Business Development Jamie Lakes. “It shows the value of customer-based reviews in helping consumers make a choice as important as investing in solar energy for their homes.”
The solar services company, which offers its free online solar calculator to interested consumers also saw interest in solar rooftop services increase drastically in 2018 with more than 7 million unique site users in 2018. As such, the site and its affiliate sites, Solar-Estimate.org, CutMyBill.com, and SolarPanelTalk.com represent the most used and relied upon home solar information sources.
To ensure that every review submitted to SolarReviews.com is submitted by a customer and issued by a solar installer or not otherwise faked, every review goes through a rigorous internal audit process. Reviews and verified reviews are becoming more important as reflected by BrightLocal’s 2018 Local Consumer Review Survey, which found that 86 percent of consumers read reviews of local businesses and often read 10 or more reviews before trusting a local business. That includes 95 percent of those between 18 and 34.
As the number of reviews have risen, so has the geographical diversity of those customers leaving reviews. Last year solar contractors across 27 states were represented in SolarReviews.com’s Top 100 solar installers list, showing that consumers from across the country are interested in peer-reviewed information from their neighbors.
The Top 100 list was dominated by smaller rooftop solar installation companies that operate in a few states, and privately or family owned companies that offer premium solar products. Most companies on the list also excel in offering cash sales and loans rather than a solar lease and power-purchase agreements (PPAs).
Utah-based Blue Raven Solar saw by far the most reviews in 2018, with 308 reviews received throughout the year. Already the company has racked up close to 20 new five-star reviews in 2019.
“Solar is still a relatively young industry; as a result, there is a wide discrepancy in quality, service, cost, and performance that a homeowner can expect to receive depending on who they choose. Unsurprisingly, many people turn to the internet to begin their research. At Blue Raven Solar, we value our customers’ feedback and encourage them to be transparent online and with their friends,” said Ben Peterson Blue Raven Solar CEO. “We are thrilled to see so many homeowners sharing their experiences on SolarReviews.com. We see a future in which harnessing the power of the sun with our homes is the norm rather than the exception. We encourage homeowners to learn what sets us apart and we believe SolarReviews.com is a valuable, trusted, and independent source of reliable information.”
“This shows that the very best solar installation companies in America embrace transparency, and want to be reviewed by their customer base,” Lakes said. SolarReviews.com’s lead generation services for solar contractors and installers are aimed at ensuring fairness and transparency both for installers and customers.
SolarReview.com’s approach to connecting consumers with solar installers and its validated reviews has led it partner with some of the nation’s leading organizations for homeowners and solar installers. The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) has partnered with SolarReviews.com and has integrated its certifications and credentials into SolarReviews.com. “NABCEP partners with SolarReviews.com as both companies are committed to directing solar-interested consumers and business owners to reputable certified solar contractors. The relationship is built on trust,” explained NABCEP Executive Director Shawn O’Brien.
